KQED’s first senior producer for voice and AI, a role created through a Google News Initiative grant to embed technologists in newsrooms and made permanent when the grant ended. Led the AI Working Group of senior editors and leadership, wrote the newsroom’s first AI guidelines, and shipped features under them.
Founded and led a lab building digital and physical installations with emerging technology. All work made in collaboration with Dina Herring. 850K in-person visitors, 13M online annually.
Led and built the creative team translating 50 years of physical exhibits into native iOS experiences. By 2019 the apps had nearly five million downloads across 151 countries.
Creative director and lead strategist for the Exploratorium’s website, over 50,000 pages, and all public-facing digital assets. Managed a web development team of 12 and set digital content strategy.
One of the museum’s first digital developers, translating exhibit concepts into online and physical interfaces. Later creative director on NSF-funded projects including Accidental Scientist: Music and Gardening, and Evidence: How Do We Know What We Know.
